On the Streets
While on the beat today:
- Accompanied city inspector in a tour of the Woodbine Hotel, one of the sorta run down places on Hastings.
- Found a heroin addict passed out on Prior (just before the Viaduct).
- Visited a domestic dispute north of Hastings in the Grandview area.
Learned that:
- Heroin junkies get blood-transmitted diseases mostly when they share shots, not from dirty needles.
- Some of the places I looked at in Toronto to live in were considerably dingier than I thought, now that I've seen nearly rock bottom in terms of where people can live (besides on the streets). Not that I ended up living in those places though.
- Late night bar openings has turned Downtown pretty nutty around four in the morning.
Way more fun than the office!
