Stamping Out Embers

Hopefully the international community is happy with the latest sign of the PRC government's renewed passion in controlling nationalistic sentiments:

SHANGHAI ARRESTS ANOTHER WORKING MAN FOR PLANNING ANTI-JAPANESE PROTESTS ONLINE
WEDNESDAY, 27 APRIL, LAST UPDATED 14:31

Reuters (Shanghai): State media reported on Wednesday that Chinese police has arrested a working man in Shanghai for using e-mail to distribute timetables and route plans for anti-Japanese protests, demonstrating the determination of the authorities to further repress demonstrations.

The Shanghai Daily cites the police's announcements, saying that this worker of a commercial enterprise has been arrested for using e-mail to organize resistance and disrupt the social order. “The local public security bureau is announcing once again that unless organizers have prior permission, this sort of protest is illegal.”

“Public security further elaborated that they forbid planning or promoting illegal protests in any form, including online or SMS messaging.”
